How do you get your headlights to get clear again in a chevy venture?

my wifes van headlights are really discolored and smoked yellow on the inside i alrwady bought one of those worthless lens defoggers it didnt do anything i need to fix them you cant even hardly see the road HELP???????How do you get your headlights to get clear again in a chevy venture?
Its most likely on the outside just really bad. I had a neon that was like that. The headlight kit I bought didn't get rid of the yellowish fading. I had to break out sandpaper. I started at about 220 grit, and worked My way up to 2000 grit, and then wet sanded it, and polished it. Ater that it looked a million times better. Then for the sake of it not yellowing again I sprayed a clear coat over them. Here is how I went.





1. 220 grit sand all smooth


2. 400 grit sand away all of the 220 grit scratches


3. 600 grit sand away all of the 400 grit scratches


4. 800 grit sand away all of the 600 grit scratches


5. 1000 grit sand away all of the 800 grit scratches


6. 1000 grit wet wet sand away the 1000 grit dry scratches


7. 1500 grit sand away the 1000 grit wet scratches


8. 1500 grit wet wet sand the 1500 grit scratches away


9. 2000 grit sand away the 1500 grit wet scratches away


10. 2000 grit wet wet sand the 2000 grit scratches away


11. use a poilishing compound and buff it all out a buffer helps alot


12. If you want clean up and spray a few coats of clear on the lens, and polish after dry.





If the yellowing is on the inside pop off the lens, and do this to the inside.How do you get your headlights to get clear again in a chevy venture?
the lens is supposed to be sealed are you sure its on the inside? i rubbed that headlight restoration crap on my mothers olds silhouette and it cleaned it.
