Why are my car headlights getting cloudy/foggy ? Can anybody tell me how to make them clear again?

My car's headlights are so cloudy/foggy on the outside and look as if I had put some spray on them. Can anybody help me with this. Perhaps buffing them?

Thanks. Why are my car headlights getting cloudy/foggy ? Can anybody tell me how to make them clear again?
advance auto parts handles kits specially designed for buffy headlights and they work great you just need to have an electric drill and a spray bottle of water along with the kit which has an adapter fot the drill and some pads with a specially formulated compound on them. Why are my car headlights getting cloudy/foggy ? Age makes them foggy.....especially cars made in the 80s and on...they used cheap plastic back then. You can try taking them apart yourself and buffing them out or using a plastic cleaner called Plexus. Sometimes it's hard to take apart your headlights without special tools. Go to your local parts store and have them take a look. Try getting some new lights while you're at it if your car needs them.
The discoloration on your headlights is caused by dirt and grime as well as, UV deterioration. Its simple to clean. Go to your local parts store and get some Meguires Plastix Cleaner... or the kit from 3M. About $8 for the plastix and about $20 for the 3M kit.

Both are plastic polish..... in 30 minutes you can do both headlights.
Take out the headlights, and clean them from the inside. That is what happened to our Lexus Headlights after it was raining, and then the headlights fogged up and looked like crap. We took them out and cleaned them, and they looked fine.
There are kits for that on Ebay
