Is there any process that will restore the clear condition of the plastic headlight cover?

the effectiveness of the lights is considerably compromised and new ones are approx $130 per sideIs there any process that will restore the clear condition of the plastic headlight cover?
Best working, cheapest, easiest stuff is a product called

Meguiar's PLASTX.

Use it just like car wax,,,,wipe it on and rub it off.

Might have to do it a few times over the course of a couple weeks to get them ';like new'; again.

Even just 1st application yields 'miraculous'; results

Most autoparts type places have it.

You can also order it online from Autozone.com

Just search for PLASTX

10oz bottle is about $5~6,,,and will ';last a lifetime';

Last time I was in the auto parts store, they had a product that was indicated just for doing that. I have never tried it, but I can tell you I recognize the need for it.

It was in the section with all of the silicone sealers/glues/etc - I think it was made by Permatex and hanging on a blue card. It was right next to the rear-view mirror adhesive by the same company. It was $4-$7 but can't remember for sure. I just know when I saw it, I wish I'd have had it for my 80's 5.0.

I can't testify as to its effectiveness, but it's certainly worth a try.
you can buy a kit from Eastwood to repair them back to new condition
use the mothers aluminum Polish it will take some elbow but will work great like new and it will last 4 months { don't use sand paper the scratches will never come out .
i have found and tried many times that rubbing compound applied with a damp cloth and rub in circle real well. let it dry to a haze and using a clean dry cotton cloth buff the heck out of it or if you have a buffer, or high speed buffer helps even better. may have to repeat don't know how bad they are. it is alot cheaper than the others they have recommended. and something to have around always anyhow. keep this stored inside so it doesn't dry up also and you can use it on scratches or bring out the shine in your old paint job also. good thing to have around always and it is cheap....just read the directions on the rubbing compound.

have fun and hope your get things cleared up...

later
what you do is get some fine sand paper and sand your headlight then get some clear spray paint and spray it. be sure to mask everything off.. i didnt it to my old car and they turn out clear
